Disclosure: who does the roofing work
Schaumburg Roofing runs a telephone and web request line for roof repair and replacement in Schaumburg and Cook County. It does not employ roofers, and nobody at Schaumburg Roofing inspects a roof, quotes a price, supplies materials, installs anything or signs a roofing contract. Each request is passed to one independent local roofing company, normally the next one able to take it, and that company alone answers for its inspection, written quote, materials, workmanship and any permit it applies for.
Illinois licenses roofing contractors through the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. The company handling your request is a licensed business holding its own license, in the Limited or Unlimited class, and its license number and name appear on its contract and bid. Neither Schaumburg Roofing nor this website holds a roofing license or claims one. To ask for the company's license number, phone (833) 751-2102 or ask when the roofer calls; it is given to you directly and can be checked with the state before work starts.
The license number is not printed on this website, to protect the privacy of small local companies, and for no other reason. Nothing here is a promise of price, arrival time, availability or result. Dollar figures that appear are published fees of record with the agency named, a real quote is set by the roofer after inspection, and whether an insurer pays is decided by the insurer.

Prices are estimates
Price ranges are typical estimates for our service area in 2026. They are not quotes or offers. Your price is confirmed in person before any work starts.
Safety on and around a roof
Do not go up to look. Falls are the leading cause of death in construction work, and roofs, ladders and roof openings account for most of them. A roof that looks sound from the ground can have broken sheathing, rotten decking or a hidden soft spot that gives way under one footstep, and storm damage makes that more likely, not less.
Never walk a roof that is wet, frosted, mossy, or shedding loose granules: asphalt shingles are slick long before they look it, and a shallow pitch is no protection. Never go up after a storm while there is still wind, lightning, standing water or a downed power line anywhere near the house. Snow and ice make the same roof several times worse, and pulling at an ice dam from a ladder brings the ice down on the person pulling it. Keep well clear of the eaves in freezing weather for the same reason.
You can tell us a great deal without leaving the ground: look at the roof with binoculars, photograph what you can see from an upstairs window, and check the ceilings and the attic from inside. Let someone with fall protection and the right ladders do the rest. While work is going on, keep children and pets away from the drip line, keep vehicles out from under the eaves, and treat every nail, offcut and piece of flashing on the ground as sharp. If a ceiling is sagging or wet, stay out of the room under it until someone has looked at it.
Licensing, permits and insurance
Illinois licenses roofing as its own trade, which most states do not: roofing contractors are licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation under the Roofing Industry Licensing Act, in Limited residential and Unlimited classes, and the licence number and the licensee's name have to appear on contracts and bids and on building permit applications. That licence belongs to the contractor who holds it, not to this website. Nothing on this Site is a claim to hold a licence, certification, approval or manufacturer accreditation. Ask us what we hold before work starts, and check it with the authority that issues it.
Replacing a roof normally needs a building permit and an inspection, and which office issues it depends on where the property sits; confirm it with your city or county building department. Shingle, membrane and metal manufacturers give their own warranties on their own terms, and most of them depend on the roof being installed, fastened and ventilated to the manufacturer's instructions; nothing on this Site creates, extends or substitutes for one.
On storm and hail work: we can document what we find and meet your adjuster at the property, but we are not public adjusters or insurance agents. We cannot appraise, negotiate or settle a claim for you, and in many states doing that without a licence is prohibited. Nothing on this Site offers to pay, waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible. Whether damage is covered is decided by your insurer under your policy, and information here is a summary, not legal, insurance or code advice.
